I truly am blessed with wonderful family and friends that came out to my art opening reception last night at Rusty Cottage. The incredibly talented shop owner and Vintage Queen Liea Spano-Baily had invited me to exhibit my new work at her Antique shop last Fall, and allow friends in Hampton Roads to see my work for the first time. A bit scary to put myself out there! I have been working with professional artists now for about 13 years, never really letting on to many people that I am an artist myself. It has only been in the last couple of years that I have really stretched myself studying Mixed Media, assemblage, taken workshops and worked hard to create a look and feel that is quite my own. What a surprise that it was received so well last night! I am so grateful to all who came out and supported me on such a cold night. A BIG THANK YOU to Liea who believe in me and took a chance on me to allow me to have this exhibit and reception at her shop! Thanks to Wanda - my best friend for helping me get organized and making her world-class brownies, and to several of you out there who spread the word and shared my post cards with friends! I also want to thank Brianna Card,, extraordinary photographer for capturing some great images! Take a look! See more of Brianna's work here. My art will continued to to be exhibited at Rusty Cottage through the weekend. Be sure to come by and check it out - 10 am - 6pm Friday and Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm.. AND Rusty Cottage has their Vintage Market this weekend - so there will be lots of vintage finds on sale!
